Hi everyone! I know my birthday was sooo long ago but all my pictures were on my laptop and it was being fixed at Apple because my clumsy self cracked my screen 🙁 I just wanted to recap on my birthday because I really had the best birthday ever. All outfit details are at the end of the post with links 🙂
At midnight, my family surprised me with the cutest unicorn cake.. which is our tradition for every birthday. I only ate a piece because I had to sleep to wake up at 5:30am for clinical… yeah I know who would want to spend their birthday at clinical ugh.
Thank god, it was the last day of clinical and then our group had a nice lunch where I cheated and ate pizza. My besties also surprised me with a Hello Kitty Balloon and also the cutest gifts. We then went straight to the salon for a mani/pedi date which was must needed. Being in nursing school, we’re not allowed to have gels or acrylic nails. We aren’t even allowed to have color except for nudes. I was totally excited to finally have nails again and decided to be completely extra and got tips with dip powder. It came out so pretty and I was obsessed LOL. Still not used to typing and everything with these tips but it just looks too cute.
At night, my boyfriend took me out to dinner at Capital Grille, which is like one of my favorites now. We love fine dining and we love steakhouses and the steaks and service was amazing here! You can read my full review here on Yelp but to sum it up, I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and bone in filet mignon. Outfit: I don’t have a full outfit picture because it was a full blizzard out 🙂 but I just wore a simple wrap dress from Forever21 and my knee high boots.
I woke up early for my hair appointment to get my extensions, which I am obsessed with. You can read all about it by clicking here.
I then went to brunch at Parc Rittenhouse with my besties Jas & Steph. Besides Jas who ordered the smoked salmon and was disappointed because it was not fully cooked lol, we enjoyed our meals while sipping on mimosas and bellinis. The restaurant had a very cute Parisian feel to it and I would definitely come back when it’s nicer for outdoors dining. You can read about my Yelp review here 🙂 Outfit: I wore a black mesh top with a black skirt & knee high boots.
At night, I celebrated my birthday dinner with my friends at Buddakan with my friends and family. Since we had a group of 18, we did family style and also sat at the communal table with the big statue of Buddha. At first, it took forever for the food to come out, but once it came out, it just kept coming. The portions were huge and satisfying. Everything was delicious. You can read my full review here on Yelp but to sum it up, my faves were the chicken dumplings, short rib and scallion pancakes, and the duck breast. The duck breast was really tender. Lastly, my boyfriend surprised me with a HUGE birthday cake designed just how I wanted with flowers and marble. It was matcha flavored and it was delicious. It tasted exactly like a green tea kit kat and I am addicted to those. He ordered it from Park Ave Cakes and I highly recommend for any custom cakes. Outfit: White bodycon dress from Tobi with tan/clear heels from Steve Madden.
My boyfriend and I woke up early and then drove to NYC for brunch at Tiffany’s that I already previously blogged about so you can read about it here 🙂 Outfit: Polka Dot Romper from Tobi & knee high boots.
After brunch, we walked around and then hung out at my cousin’s before dinner. We had dinner at Peter Luger’s, a famous New York Steakhouse located in Williamsburg (Brooklyn). I been wanting to go here for the longest so I was excited to go here. There were 6 of us and we ordered steak for 5 with appetizers, wine, and dessert. Everything was really delicious! The inside isn’t fancy and doesn’t scream fine dining but the food is so worth it and it’s a classic. When you walk in, there is a whole wall of Zagat awards for best restaurant of the year. You can read my full review here on Yelp 🙂 Outfit: Black dress from Urban Outfitters
