When I’m on vacation, I like to make sure the hotel I’m staying at is cute, comfortable, and central. Central means that it’s walking distance to all major attractions and dining since that saves the convenience of renting a car and calling Ubers.
I recently went to Charleston, South Carolina and wanted to go originally for Rainbow Row and all the colorful buildings. I came across the Mills House Hotel when hotel shopping and initially fell in love with the pink building. I then look at the amenities which included pool, restaurant/bar, and cafe, and was sold! AESTHETICS
When looking at the outside, the hotel is a nice light pink. The outer space has an outdoor patio and water fountain. We sat outside here after getting lattes and people also sit outside here when grabbing drinks at the restaurant bar. The inside of the hotel has cute seating with cute pillows as well. We felt like everywhere in the hotel was so picture worthy and the aesthetics was on point.

THE IRON ROSE
The Iron Rose is a restaurant located inside the restaurant that has a walk in bar and also outdoor seating where you an enjoy your drink. The restaurant is Southern American cuisine. I got classic steak and my friend got the shrimp and grits. We also enjoyed some cocktails which were super delicious. We enjoyed the ambiance a lot and the service was great. We did a walk in for 2 on a Thursday night and it was not packed at all.

THE BLACK DOOR CAFE
This cafe is inside the hotel but also can be entered by the public through separate doors. This cafe has cute indoor and outdoor settings. They serve coffee, lattes, matcha, teas, and even smoothies. For food, they have pastries, wraps, and biscuit sandwiches. They have a variety of drinks (even alcohol), to go food, chips, and snacks in the refrigerated section as well as on the tables. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and no lie, it is probably one of the best latte I ever had. I also tried their biscuit sandwich which was YUM and their smoothies are very refreshing.

THE POOL
One of the main reasons we picked this hotel was for the pool too since the weather in Charleston is hot and definitely pool weather 🙂 The pool had a very cute European vibes to it and had plenty of outdoor seating. We came early at 9am when it was opened to get first dibs on chair and to even get some photos in before it filled up.

THE LOCATION
Lastly, the location of this hotel was perfect! It was walking distance to all the attractions we wanted to go to and all the restaurants. The major attractions were Rainbow Row, French Quarter, King Street for shopping, The Charleston City Market, Ritual Rooftop, The Charleston Museum, The Battery, Joe Riley Waterfront Park, and so much more. The only place we ubered too was Foley Beach but it was only 20 mins and was only about $30 uber ride.

Overall, the hotel offered everything we were looking for and was super cute. Highly recommend! If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out 🙂 xoxo, Jenn
